Galatians Lesson 12

The law was not given to provide life or righteousness, but to reveal sin and show mankind’s need for a Saviour. The law is holy, just, and good, but it cannot save because man is weak through the flesh (by the works of the law, no flesh can be justified). The law serves as a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, where righteousness and life can only be received by faith without works. Once we trust in Christ’s finished work on the cross, we are no longer under the schoolmaster, but are children of God, one with Christ, and heirs according to the promise.
